IARS Award Winner

The IARS Annual Research and Leadership Awards: 2013

One of our outreach mentors was nominated for ‘The Young Victim Support Award 2013.  Josiah has demonstrated his commitment to supporting young men to exit gangs.  His drive to support  one young individual experiencing homelessness and gang violence intimidation resulted in the young man not ending up as another prison statistic. Josiah mentored the teenager intensively on a one to one basis and helped him overcome his fear of gangs and the pressure to join another gang. He has worked tirelessly with this individual, allocating a high degree of time to remove emotional barriers and to help the teenager deal with the hardship of moving away from his family and into a new area.

You too can acknowledge the contribution made by your youth and community leaders in helping to turn young  our youth and community leaders for next year’s award!
