NMBEC car wash campaign
PUPILS at Norbury Manor Business College wash cars in suppport of JAGS Foundation
The students were deeply touched by the presentation of Tracey Ford when she visited the school as part of a sixth form debate on ‘Politics and Crime’ organised by sixth form teacher Mark Alderson.
The students, enthused and embroiled about the after affects young people face when they lose a school friend to violent crime being committed by another school friend , prompted the girls determination to want to highlight the problems being faced by young people.
The ‘Save A Child’ campaign has been borne out of young people’s frustration of the ‘wall of silence’ which surrounds many unsolved murders of young people.
A short presentation was presented to an audience including Newham Monitoring Project, the IPCC and Amnesty International on ‘how to raise awareness in breaking the code of silence’ which affects young people who also have witnessed violent crime.
The students donated the proceeds of the one day car wash to JAGS Foundation.
